We wanted to make a tribute to the original game and its thousands of fans. We’re happy to say that we fixed these and many other problems reported during the latest months, and now the game is far more solid.Īdditionally, we also wanted to add new free features based on community feedback that we thought players would enjoy and improve the overall game experience.įirst is the addition of a photo mode, and an advanced customization system, which lets players personalize their character more freely.Ĭlassic Mode was released in March and was a big challenge. Our objective for Aragami 2 post-launch support was, first and foremost, to address the main issues that came up since launch - especially bug fixing and solving the multiplayer issues. Most of all, we’ve been listening to feedback from our players and fans. We can’t believe it’s already been twelve months since players set off on an adventure in the Rashomon Valley, fighting the armies of Akatsuchi, wielding shadow powers, and sharing the journey with their friends. Don’t touch this one.Īragami 2 is celebrating its first anniversary! If I could have imported my original character, I would have been thrilled. I simply cannot play this game without feeling sick.Īll I wanted from Aragami 2 was a game that built on the first: new levels, enemies, abilities, enhanced multiplayer co-op, and maybe as a cherry on top, modern graphics. It does a great job of inducing motion sickness. As you move and look around the world, it appears and though the depth-of-field, field-of-view, and a wide-angle distortion shift and change willynilly. But the thing that makes this game unplayable is a camera distortion (which cannot be disabled). The graphic-design itself is bad – look at the game’s waterfalls for a laughable example. The graphics are appalling, somehow poorer than the original game. We gave up and played the original Aragami (and had a great time). So, we put on our grinding hats and got through the tutorial as quickly as possible, joined co-op for the level hub, but then discovered co-op isn’t available for the first mission. Finally, we realised that co-op isn’t available during the tutorial level. We both tried different fixes, sitting through the unskippable opening cinematic three times, before losing patience. I wanted to play Aragami 2 in co-op with my friend, but to our confusion, the co-op option was greyed out. Want to stealth-kill an enemy from above? Well, you missed… or something… who knows, but now you’re dead. Another enemy is attacking you? Well, you’re still locked to the first enemy. Want to quickly run from an enemy? Well, the camera is locked to the enemy. Want to step off a ledge? Well, now you’re auto-dangling from it. The mouse sensitivity cannot be set high enough and bizarrely, the camera is now (sometimes?) independent of your facing direction. Even your basic movement controls are frustrating. Teleporting – the soul of the first game – has been relegated to only moving to ledges. The original’s focus on stealth has been shifted to clumsy combat mechanics. Sneaking, teleporting, luring and quietly assassinating enemies is such great fun, especially with a friend.īut Aragami 2 is none of this. If you’re spotted by an enemy, you’re usually as good as dead. To me, that game is defined by its great stealth mechanics and the absence of combat. I greatly enjoy playing the original Aragami, having clocked up around 50 hours, mostly in co-op with a friend.
